🛒 The “Goodbye, Mom” Trick
A young man noticed an elderly woman following him around the supermarket.
Every time he stopped… she stopped. And she kept staring at him.
At checkout, she finally spoke.
“I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable,” she said gently. “It’s just… you look so much like my late son.”
The man smiled kindly. “That’s okay.”
She hesitated, then added, “I know it sounds silly, but… could you call out ‘Goodbye, Mom’ as I leave? It would make me very happy.”
He agreed.
As she walked out, he called, “Goodbye, Mom!”
She turned, smiled warmly, and waved.
Feeling good about himself, he went to pay for his groceries.
“That’ll be $121.85,” the cashier said.
He blinked. “That can’t be right—I only bought five items.”
The cashier smiled.
“Yeah… but your mom said you’d be paying for her stuff too.”

A little girl was watching her mother wash dishes when she noticed strands of white hair.
“Mom, why are some of your hairs white?” she asked.
Her mother replied, “Every time you do something wrong and make me sad, one of my hairs turns white.”
The girl thought for a moment… then asked:
“Mom… then why is Grandma’s hair all white?” 😅
